One of our favourite places.
World famous and World Heritage site.
Very, very beautiful town perched on a hill overlooking the vineyards. Precipitous streets and little piazzas reminiscent of Italian villages. Great restaurants.
The town boasts a fascinating underground church, hewn from solid rock – Saint Emilion’s hermitage, which hid art treasures from the Louvre during the last war.
It is also famous for their macaroons.
