Cycling is the national pastime in France so we have four new adult bicycles (his and hers). These can be hired at a substantially cheaper rate than commercially available locally.

We also have some children’s bicycles. We do not have cycle racks for cars, however.

For the serious cyclists then it would be best to bring your own.

There are numerous cycle routes locally, through vineyards and sun flower fields. For the more adventurous there are longer rides from village to village passing local attractions on the way.

Messac Church has a map of all the routes and paths in the south of the Charente-Maritime and into the Charente as well. We also have some cycling maps available.

There is a particularly nice new route near Baignes along what is now a disused railway track.
